Which data do we keep?

Do you create an account? Then we keep this data:Your name. This can also be a nickname.Your email address.Your password. We do not keep your password the way you write it.We change it into another form. This way nobody can simply read it.We need this data so that you can use Slam Voting.

You can also switch on a 2nd step for signing in.Then you also need a code from an app on your phone. An app is a program on the phone. For the 2nd step we keep a secret key and emergency codes. We keep both encrypted.Encrypted means: nobody can simply read it.

Do you create a competition? Then we keep this data:The name of the competition. The names of the people who perform. The points and the results.Files that you upload. For example a logo or a background picture.

The person who creates a competition is responsible for this data.We only offer the technology.Everyone with the code or the link can see the screen. It shows the names and the points.Nobody needs an account for this. The person who creates the competitioncan also protect the screen with a password.

Do you write an idea or a comment on Slam Voting? Then other people with an account can see the text. They can also see your name.

We keep the data from your account and your competitionsas long as you have an account.

Where is the data?

The website runs on computers in Germany.Such a computer is called a server. We use the servers of the company Hetzner.Your data is also there. This is the data from your account and your competitions.Files that you upload are also there.

The company All-Inkl also helps us.All-Inkl manages our internet address. And All-Inkl receives the emails that people send to us.

We have a contract with Hetzner and with All-Inkl.The contract says:The company may only use the data the way we tell it to.

The server writes down some technical data at every visit. For example the time. And which program for the internet you use.And your IP address. An IP address is a number.Your device uses the number to find its way on the internet. We need this data so that the website runs well and safely. We delete it automatically after a short time.

Other companies help us with certain tasks. We only pass on data when it is necessary.

The company LetterMint sends emails from Slam Voting to you.For example when you create an account.LetterMint gets your email address for this.Sometimes LetterMint also gets your name. The servers of LetterMint are in the EU.The EU is the European Union. It is a group of many countries in Europe.

The company Mollie handles the payment when you buy a subscription.Mollie gets your name, your email address and your payment data.We do not keep the payment data ourselves.Mollie is based in the Netherlands.

Do you sign in with Google? Then Google sends us your name and your email address.Google also sends us a number for your Google account.Sometimes Google also sends a link to your picture. With Google, data can go to the USA.The USA is a country in America.Signing in with Google is your choice. You can also sign in with email and password. You can delete the connection to Google in your profile.

Cookies

Cookies are small files.A website can save cookies on your device.A device is a phone, a tablet or a computer.

Slam Voting only uses necessary cookies.Necessary means: the website needs them to work. For example:A cookie remembers that you are signed in.A cookie remembers your answer to the question about cookies.Your device also remembers if you want to see the website light or dark.

We do not use tracking cookies.Tracking cookies write down what you do on the internet.

A window appears when you visit for the first time. The window asks you about cookies. You can choose “Necessary only”.You can change your choice later. For this, there is a button “Cookie Settings”.It is at the bottom of this page.

You can also switch off cookies in the program you use for the internet. Then the website may not work well.

Statistics and error messages

We want to know:How many people visit Slam Voting?Which pages do they read? For this we use a program called Umami.Umami does not set cookies.Umami does not keep complete IP addresses. So we do not know who you are.Umami runs on our own server in the EU.

Sometimes there is an error on the website. Then we get a message. For this we use a program called GlitchTip.GlitchTip also runs on our own server in the EU.

The message says for example:Which page had the error? When was the error?Which program and which device did you use?We do not keep the IP address. We delete the message after 90 days.

We only report errors from your own program for the internetif you allow it.We always report errors on our server.Usually we do not keep any data about you for this.

There is also a count that is your choice. It is for the screen on the projector. We count how many different IP addresses open a screen. This only happens if you allow it in the cookie window.Without your permission we do not count. The screen works without your permission too. After 31 days at the latest, we delete everything that belongs to you. Then only a number is left.

Questions for the audience

Some events ask the audience questions. You answer with your phone. You do not need an account or an app.

We store your answer. In a quiz you can give a nickname. You do not have to.We also store the time of your answer.

Your phone remembers a random number. That way each phone can only answer once.We do not store the random number itself. We only store a changed form of it.So we do not know who you are.

We only use your IP address for a short time. With it, we protect the vote from too many requests. We do not store the IP address for this.

You write a word or a short text? Then the team of the event checks the text first.Only then can people see it on the screen. Please do not write names or other data about people.

After 30 days we delete the single answers. Then only the result of the question is left.

What we write down

Do you have an account?Or do you use a live control link? Then we write down some things. This is called a log.

We write down:When you create an account. When you sign in.When a sign-in does not work. When you ask for a new password. When you sign out.We also save your IP address. And which program you use for the internet.

We also write downwhen you change something. For example in a competition.Or in a round.Or on the projector. We save which part was changed. We do not save texts or points. We also write down when you pay.We do not save the amount there.

Are you signed in?Then we also write downwhich pages in your account you look at.We save the page and the time.We do not write down where you click. We also do not write down what you type.

Why do we do this?To keep the website safe. And to help youwhen there is a problem.

Only the people who run Slam Voting can see the log.We delete which pages you looked atautomatically after 90 days.We delete everything else automatically after 180 days. This is also true if you delete your account before.

Your rights

You have rights about your data. You may ask us:Which data do you have about me?This costs nothing.

You may tell us:Please change my wrong data.Or: Please delete my data.

Did you give us permission for something? For example in the cookie window? Then you may take back your permission at any time. From then on, the permission is no longer valid.

You can also delete your account yourself. You can do this in your profile. Then we delete your data.We must keep some data for longer, because a law says so.For example data about a payment.

Do you think we do something wrong with your data? Then you may complain. You complain to an office for data protection. The office is called a supervisory authority.

There are more rights. They are in the privacy policy.
