Community Guidelines

Last updated: 27 October 2026

Slam Voting depends on everyone being able to rely on fair results and a respectful evening. These guidelines apply to everyone who takes part: organizers, teams, jurors, guests with a live control link and everyone who shares ideas and feedback.

On the night

Score fairly

Enter the points carefully and honestly, just as the audience gives them, and don't make deals at the expense of individual performers. Correcting a mistake is fine, secretly falsifying results is not. Tie-breaks follow the rules of the evening. Don't distort digital audience votes with multiple votes or bots.

The stage belongs to the performers

Only enter names, photos, Instagram, country and texts with the performers' consent. Only upload what you have the rights to, for example photos by photographers, logos or music. Texts and translations remain the work of the poets. Nothing that demeans people goes on the projector.

No place for contempt for humanity

Slam Voting must not be used for events that promote texts or content incompatible with the German Basic Law (Grundgesetz): inhumane, racist, antisemitic, nationalist, far-right or anti-democratic. We remove such events and block the accounts behind them.

Access is a matter of trust

Only share the display PIN, live control link, operator link and team invitations with people who need them for the evening. Renew or delete the links afterwards. Don't share your account. You can invite more members to your team for free, so everyone has their own account.

Your night, your responsibility

slam-voting.com is the tool for scoring. The organizers remain responsible for the night itself, including how they handle incidents on site.

In the community

Respect everywhere

No insults, no discrimination, no threats. That applies to ideas and comments just as much as to round names, texts and slides.

Protect private data

Don't publish other people's private data, whether in ideas and comments or in round names or on slides. That includes addresses, phone numbers and private contacts. It's only okay if the person agrees.

Ideas and feedback

Check whether your idea already exists before you post it. One idea per post, factual and without advertising. Vote honestly, one account per person. We merge duplicates and remove anything that goes against these guidelines.

Report gaps, don't exploit them

If you find a security vulnerability, report it confidentially through feedback or by email to support@slam-voting.com. Don't exploit it and don't make it public before it is fixed. We'll get back to you and say thank you.

Fair with each other

Under your own name

Don't use your account, team name or event name to pose as another person, another team or another event.

Solidarity means not taking advantage

Solidarity Supporter access is for everyone who can't afford the subscription. Request it honestly. If you charge admission, have sponsors or receive funding and can afford to pay, support slam-voting.com with a subscription. If your situation changes, switch to a subscription. That's the only way we can give access to others.

Inspiration yes, credits please

Ideas are free, and we're happy when Slam Voting inspires others. If you build your own solution and draw heavily on Slam Voting, be fair and name the source: credit where credit is due. Don't copy texts, design, graphics or code without asking. Talk to us, we're happy to exchange ideas. We do the same: when a feature comes from the community's ideas, we say so.

If something isn't right

Talk to us, through feedback or the address in the imprint. In clear cases of violation we remove content, end a solidarity access or block an account. Usually, though, a conversation is enough.

If you see content that goes against these guidelines, please report it to us. We treat every report confidentially and make sure nobody can draw conclusions about you. If that isn't possible in a particular case, you decide whether your anonymity matters more to you or that we take action.

These guidelines grow with us, and we'll let you know about bigger changes. We welcome suggestions on the feature ideas page.
